Workshop objectives:
Upon successful workshop completion the participants will
- understand the role of internationally visible publications for a career in social sciences
- understand the (formal and content) requirements of international journals
- understand the various forms publication strategies can take
- be able to develop an individual publication strategy
- be able to increase publication chances by effectively positioning their research
- Publication types and quality control
- Publication strategy types
- Reasons for publishing in international journals
- Measuring journal quality and research impact
- Improve your chance of getting published 1: Select the “right” co-authors
- Improve your chance of getting published 2: Select the “right” target journal
- Improve your chance of getting published 3: Position your research and develop “a common language” with the target journal
Method:
- Short input sessions (<20mins)
- Group work (break out rooms and miro board)
- Presentation of results and plenary discussions moderated by instructor
- Brainstorming and co-creation sessions (miro board)
- Guest speakers (tbd)
